Outdoor tiling built for slip resistance and weather
Alfresco areas, patios, pool surrounds, entries and paths in slip-rated external tile across Melbourne + Geelong.
What’s involved
Outdoor tile has to survive sun, rain and foot traffic while staying safe underfoot, so we specify slip-rated porcelain or stone-look tile suited to the area — pool surrounds and wet-prone patios get a higher rating than a covered alfresco.
Falls are set away from the house, expansion joints placed where movement is expected, and edges detailed so water doesn't track back under thresholds.
Where we tile
Common questions
What slip rating do pool areas need?
We specify tiles that meet the relevant slip-resistance classification for wet pedestrian areas around pools.
Will outdoor tiles crack in winter?
Not when the right tile, adhesive and movement joints are used for Melbourne's climate — that's part of what we plan for.
Can you match a pattern like checkerboard?
Yes, including two-tone checkerboard and other pattern layouts — see our projects page for an example.
